Morning Hack: How to Study Most Efficiently

If you’re currently cramming for finals ahead of graduation, we’ve gotchu. Ryan’s morning hack today involves the Pomodoro Technique: a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s that involves using a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks.

As confused as we were discussing this on-air, allegedly it works.

Here’s how to practice the Pomodoro Technique:

Set a timer for 25 minutes

Work until the timer goes off — then take a 5-minute break.

Set a timer again for 25 minutes and then take 5 minutes off 4 more times. After the timer goes off for the 4th time, take a 30-minute break.

Then repeat the above.

According to the madness, the pattern keeps you motivated and helps cut down on mental fatigue, distractions and helps with better retention.
