Champoeg State Park Camp Ground Construction Change

Champoeg State Heritage Area will move its partial construction closure to late 2025, which means spring and summer campground reservations will reopen for B Loop.

B Loop was slated to close temporarily for construction between April and September, but the schedule has changed. All reservable campsites sites in B loop during the six-month booking window will now be reservable online starting at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2025.

Champoeg is one of the nine GO Bond projects at Oregon State Parks supported through Oregon-issued general obligation bonds approved by the Oregon State Legislature in 2021.

The project is slated to include adding additional camping sites and a restroom/shower building. The work is scheduled to begin in late 2025 or early 2026. B Loop might need to close during a portion of the construction.

As Oregon State Parks update their construction calendars, OPRD will post information about reservations that reopen due to schedule changes or project completion on a dedicated webpage. The park will announce the upcoming release in advance and then release the sites all at once.

Please visit the Champoeg webpage for up-to-date information about the Champoeg GO Bond project and campground closures. For more detailed information about the project visit the park construction web page.
