Oregon Humane Society is waiving adoption fees for adult cats, ages 1 and up, and cutting adoption fees by 50 percent for kittens, Sept. 15-18. The adoption promotion is in response to a recent influx of felines from our local community and beyond. This adoption special is taking place at OHS’ Portland and Salem campuses.
OHS staff in Portland and Salem are working together to meet an extraordinary need. On Wednesday, OHS’ Salem campus took in nearly 100 cats and kittens from a suspected neglect case in Polk County. At the Portland campus, close to 500 cats and kittens are currently receiving care.
“We are committed to helping as many cats and kittens as we can, but we need the public’s help,” says Chase Patterson, OHS Vice President of Operations. “Every adoption makes a difference and allows us to help the next animal in need.”
OHS adoption specialists work with each family to help find the purrfect feline friend.
Available pets at the OHS’ Salem campus include Socks, pictured left, and special needs cats like Cici, who has been waiting for several months for the purr-fect home. Salem cats available for adoption can be viewed at oregonhumane.org/salem.
In Portland, Ghost Pepper, the kitty with the spicy name, is ready to show his sweet side to potential adopters. Schedule an appointment to view adoptable cats at the Portland campus at www.oregonhumane.org.Â
Adoptions at both locations are done by appointment, with same-day appointments available. All adoptions include up-to-date vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip, and a certificate for a free health exam with participating veterinarians.
