Police Need Tips In Homicide

Portland Police need leads to investigate the fatal shooting of a 66-year-old man in Northeast Portland.

On Thursday afternoon, Portland Police were called to a shooting in the 4300 block of Northeast 90th Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, they found evidence of gunfire and a victim who had been shot.

The victim of the shooting has been identified as 66-year-old Thomas Hammond of Portland. The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined the cause of Hammond's death was from a gunshot wound and the manner of Hammond's death a homicide.

PPB homicide detectives are interested in speaking to anyone with information about the incident. Additionally, homicide detectives are asking the public who reside between Northeast Prescott Street and Northeast Skidmore Street from Northeast 85th Avenue to Northeast 92nd Avenue for home security system footage on August 20th from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
