Arrest Made In Murder Of Nancy Bergeson

On Friday, Portland Police Bureau Homicide detectives arrested 28-year-old Christopher Alexander Williamson in connection with the 2009 homicide of a prominent Portland defense attorney, 57-year-old Nancy Bergeson.

This investigation started on November 24, 2009 at approximately 3:00 p.m., when Bergeson was found deceased in her home at 4146 Southwest Hamilton Street.

Initially, the medical examiner thought her death was from natural causes and her body was removed from her house. It was later determined Bergeson died of homicidal violence.

It caused a 16 hour delay in the start of the investigation by homicide detectives.

At the time, there was no suspect information and very few clues as to what circumstances led to Bergeson's death.

Williamson was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on one count of Murder and will be arraigned on Tuesday January 22, 2019, in Multnomah County Court.
