One person was killed and five were injured in a crash on the TV Highway near Cornelius.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says around 7 p.m. Saturday the driver of a Dodge Challenger was travelling at a high rate of speed when it cross the center line of the TV Highway near 341 Avenue and hit a Honda.
The Honda briefly caught fire.
Four people in the Honda and two people in the Challenger was hospitalized. A woman in the Honda, 25-year-old Al Hera Islam, died at the hospital. Another passenger in the Honda has life threatening injuries.
The Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team is investigating. They’re looking at high speed as a factor in the crash and criminal charges are possible in the future.
