Movie Studios Can Now Be Sued for False Advertising With Deceptive Trailers

Looks first go back... remember when the trailer for Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War came out? (look below) *all the Avengers are on the thumbnail cover!!!! And yet, that scene NEVER HAPPENED in the movie.

A new class action lawsuit has been brought against Universal for being "false and misleading" in their trailers for their 2019 film 'Yesterday'. On Tuesday, a federal judge ruled that movie studios can now be sued under false advertising laws if they release deceptive trailers, Variety reported. The lawsuit came to fruition because of two slighted Ana de Armas fans, who rented the movie 'Yesterday', after seeing de Armas in the trailer, discover she was cut from the final version of the movie. Those fans, who each paid $3.99 to rent 'Yesterday' through Amazon Prime Video, are seeking $5 million in damages as part of a proposed class-action suit.
