October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month - and one of the best ways you can prevent breast cancer is through a healthy diet.
Here are some tips from the folks at Eat This, Not That!: Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables - the antioxidants can help prevent cell damage and lower your cancer risk. Cut down on fatty foods - a low-fat diet can lower the risk of breast cancer deaths by 21%. Red meat has been linked to an increased risk for many types of cancer - so try switching out beef for leaner alternatives like poultry, fish, eggs, or beans. Finally, limit alcohol consumption to moderate levels - ideally, just one drink per day.
