CDC Says Disinfecting Surfaces Is Mostly 'For Show'

A CDC official says cleaning and disinfecting surfaces it's necessary to prevent coronavirus - and might even do more harm than good.

Vince Hill says the risk of actually transmitting the virus through surfaces is "low" and that cleaning surfaces is only necessary if an infected person has been inside the home within the last 24 hours. In fact, Hill says cleaning surfaces is often done 'for show' and can give people a 'false sense of security' - when preventive measures like mask-wearing and social distancing are far more important.
