Taylor Swift Sings 'Lover' on SNL & Responds About Her "Songwriting Skills"

There has been talk that Taylor Swift doesn’t write her own music and that she just co-writes. Well, Tay-Tay wants critics to put some respect on her name! During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon the Lover singer had the best one-liner for those who doubt her songwriting skills. When Fallon asked what her favorite track was on her new Lover album, Taylor answered “the title track.” She then came back with a response that could be heard around the world. "I find it funny to think about having a party for all the songwriters on that song because it would just be me." Shots fired! Swift has uploaded videos of her songwriting process, even revealing that she produces music too. So there you have it, Swift does write her own music, so "You Need to Calm Down." Did you think Taylor Swift didn’t write her own music? Does it change your perspective on the artist if someone else writes their song lyrics?

Below, Taylor performed Lover on SNL this past weekend. Check out her post below too about her writing songs.....

"Had the best time playing Lover on SNL exactly the way I wrote it, on piano in a quiet moment." More shots fired!
