Russian Candy Bar Contains Blood

Have you heard about this yet? It's called Hematogen. As reported by VICE, the popular sugary treat was often given out to young children in Soviet-era Russia in order to treat anemia (iron supplement), which is prevalent in young children. Made with beet sugar, condensed milk and sugar syrup, it’s also infused with a surprising secret ingredient: cow’s blood.

Check out Stephen Colbert talk about it at the bottom video at the 2:45 mark. lol
