Shawn Mendes Confirms Collaboration With Niall Horan

Just a few weeks back, Niall Horan and Shawn Mendes were spotted hanging out with one another in Los Angeles and now it seems like the pop stars are ready to take their friendship to the recording studio.

Word of a collab arrived when a Horan fan recently asked the former One Direction if he plans on working on a song with the Canadian chart-topper. "We're going to try," he replied to the inquiry, but it didn't seem like that response was good enough for Mendes. "We ARE going to!" Mendes chimed in on the exchange, to which Niall responded: "Let's do it then."

In case you don't remember, the pop pair has (kinda) worked with each other in the past. A few years ago, they met up backstage of the 2016 American Music Awards to perform an impromptu duet of Mendes' smash, "Mercy," in a dressing room. "I got a chance to speak to him recently and we are definitely going to write together. We are going into the studio as soon as we can get our diaries together and see what we come up with," Mendes said at the time.

In related news, Horan recently announced a new collaboration on Julia Michaels' new EP, Inner Monologue Part I, which is set to drop this Friday (January 25). "So excited about this!" he wrote. "I'm singing on @juliamichaels album and I’m over the moon. Julia is one of my very very good friends and ‘what a time’ is absolutely stunning. I’m very proud to be part of this and can’t wait for you guys to hear it."
