Tourist From Dubai Schools Oregon State Trooper On Local Law

The driver from Dubai said he didn't have a license plate because his car is from Dubai, the cop said "you're not in Dubai." But the driver said he was following the law. (see below and watch the video)

Oregon Law -

“ORS 803.305 (14) specifically provides that vehicles currently registered and titled in any other country, state or territory are not required to be registered by this state, provided the owner is not a resident of this state or has been a resident for less than 30 days,” Oregon State Police spokesperson Timothy R. Fox said over email Tuesday.

“ORS 807.020 (1) provides that a person who is not a resident of this state or who has been a resident of this state for less than 30 days may operate a motor vehicle without an Oregon license or driver permit if the person holds a current out-of-state or foreign license issued to the person,” he added.

From Youtube:

"I have never tried to bait any police officer anywhere in the world just to get it on video for the views, I always respect them and I always smile but this Oregon State Trooper (Trooper Donald Rummer) was definitely the most arrogant, defensive and ignorant police officer I have ever encountered. I was doing the speed limit, obeying all traffic laws and I was just traveling through Oregon on my way to Vancouver, BC in Canada but this police officer seems to be absolutely clueless about federal and international driving laws. The car did have plates, Dubai plates, this is where I reside and the car was just temporary shipped to the US for a short vacation. Just like a Canadian driver with a Canadian license plate in the US. Plain and simple. I'm pretty sure if I said the wrong thing, the officer would have just arrested me on general principle!"
