#5SOSFAM! We are one step closer to 5 Seconds of Summer's brand new album, because the guys have debuted another song from the upcoming record called "Valentine." So we now have heard their previously released single "Want You Back" and "Valentine."
Ahead of the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday, March 11th, 5 Seconds of Summer performed during an intimate show in Los Angeles celebrating all of the fan armies of the world at the official iHeartRadio Music Awards Fan Army Celebration, presented by Taco Bell.
And as any member of the #5SOSFam already knows, 5 Seconds of Summer's fans won Best Fan Army presented by Taco Bell in 2015. So what better way to help celebrate all of the fan armies who are nominated in the category this year?! Right?!?!
During their performance, fans heard 5 Seconds of Summer's new single "Want You Back," the premiere of their never-before-heard song "Valentine," and favorites from the band's previous two albums Sounds Good Feels Good and their 2014 self-titled debut.

Before 5 Seconds of Summer hit the stage, they sat down for an exclusive interview with host Tanya Rad. The band talked about their new music, revealed that their album is complete, and gave the backstory on their new song "Valentine."
The band wrote "Valentine" on Valentine's Day 2017 with star songwriter Justin Tranter, who has written songs with Hailee Steinfeld, Selena Gomez, Julia Michaels, and more. The guys said of working with Justin, "Justin Tranter is a role model for me. He's one of the most free beings I've ever met, and he inspired me, you know, for everything in my life, songwriting wise."
"Valentine" is another appetizer for 5 Seconds of Summer's upcoming third full-length album. Fans have also already heard their latest single "Want You Back," which the guys admitted to leaking a part of the night before to fans ... simply because it hadn't been leaked yet! They said, "We actually leaked a verse of the song the night before. Because pretty much all of our songs get leaked somehow before they're released, and this is the only one that didn't. So we decided to leak it."
If you're a 5 Seconds of Summer fan wondering what you can expect from the rest of the album, the guys say that "Want You Back" isn't even the best song on the album. They explained, "I really don't think it's our best song, either, on the album. So, it's more excitement for the rest of the music to come."
The band also said of the gap between this new album and their last album (2015's Sounds Good Feels Good), "It was important for us to take this time. We needed to make the best album possible, and we needed to take a second. We've been doing this for a long time. We toured for five years straight, and the third album deserved us to focus and grow into what we potentially can be as a band."
