In celebration of International Women's Day coming up March 8th, Mattel has announced a new line of Barbie dolls modeled after iconic women in history and modern-day role models.

Frida Kahlo, Amelia Ehrhardt and Katherine Johnson are the first to be announced as part of the new Inspiring Women™ doll line series, which comes with materials about each woman's contribution to the world. Olympic gold medal-winning snowboarder Chloe Kim, Wonder Woman filmmaker Patty Jenkins, and award-winning conservationist Bindi Irwin are just three of the 14 modern-day women to be honored with their own dolls.

"As a brand that inspires the limitless potential in girls, Barbie will be honoring its largest line up of role models timed to International Women's Day because we know that you can't be what you can't see," said Lisa McKnight, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Barbie, in a press release. "Girls have always been able to play out different roles and careers with Barbie and we are thrilled to shine a light on real life role models to remind them that they can be anything."

As part of the campaign, Barbie is encouraging everyone to join the conversation and share their role models using #MoreRoleModels.
