Pregnant Duchess Kate is being criticized for looking “too thin.” The royal stepped out in a gorgeous blue lace Temperely London dress on World Mental Health Day on Wednesday, October 11, and showed off her baby bump.
In comments posted to Kensington Palace’s Instagram account, people commented that Kate looked too skinny.
“I can’t believe she’s prego, she looks too thin,” one person wrote, while others went as far as to comment that she looked “emaciated” and “severely malnourished.”
Supporters rushed to the Duchess of Cambridge’s defense. As one woman wrote: “People are horrible! I suffered from hyperemesis 5 times! I had big babies but did not show until really late.”
The royal has been vocal about suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe and persistent form of morning sickness that occurs in just two percent of pregnancies.
Kate and Prince William are the parents of Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2.
