In a new essay for Elle U.K., Kesha opens up about what led her to check into rehab and how the music industry fueled her own issues with her body. "I take my music and career very seriously, and certainly didn't land in [rehab] from partying,” Kesha writes. She goes on to to say that the music industry has set unrealistic expectations for what a body is supposed to look like and that she became overly critical of her own because of it. Known for writing anthems of empowerment, the singer says that she started feeling like she was letting her fans down. "I felt like a liar, telling people to love themselves as they are, while I was being hateful to myself and really hurting my body,” she admits.
