Executive Director of the Oregon 529 Savings Network Michael Parker along with Executive Director of All Born Angela Jarvis-Holland and her husband and President of the NW Down Syndrome Association Steve Holland, stopped by the studio to talk with Tra'Renee about the newly launched Oregon ABLE Savings Plan.

The Oregon 529 Savings Network just launched the Oregon ABLE Savings Plan on December 6, 2016. The Oregon ABLE Savings Plan has been put in place to help Oregonians with disabilities and their families to save for living expenses without losing public benefits. The plan allows equal opportunities for all individuals. Before the Oregon ABLE Savings Plan, people with disabilities were required to have less than $2,000 in savings and investments to remain eligible for benefits such as Medicaid and SSI.

The plan paves a pathway to a better quality life. Angela Jarvis-Holland speaks on behalf of her son Daniel who now has an Oregon ABLE Savings Plan account and how it will help him as he ventures through life. Like Daniel, you too can sign up for the Oregon ABLE Savings Plan and see if you or someone you know is eligible by visiting their website http://oregonablesavings.com to apply.
