Kanye West is officially anti-Trump. Just a few weeks ago, West was the president of the United States' biggest fan. Now, times have changed and he's had a change of heart.
According to reports, West stopped supporting Trump after he issued his controversial "Muslim Ban," which barred thousands of people with origins from select countries that have predominately Islamic residents from entering the U.S. So, it was only right that the rapper/producer/designer expressed his disagreement with this ban during his much-anticipated New York Fashion Week show.
West hired 19-year-old Halima Aden to model some pieces from his Yeezy Season 5 collection. She's a Somali-American model who proudly wears a hijab. Take a look at Aden strutting her stuff in Ye's show below.
Born on a Kenyan refugee camp, she moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota when she was a child. Now, she's a student at St. Cloud University. Aden proudly wears her hijab to change the way beauty is viewed in fashion. “A lot of people will look at you and will fail to see your beauty because you’re covered up and they’re not used to it. So growing up, I just had to work on my people skills and give people a chance to really know me besides the clothing,” she once told Minnesota’s KARE 11.
I signed with the top modeling agency in the WORLD and still wore my hijab as my crown. Don't ever change yourself ..Change the game❤️ I can't thank @evelienjoos, @carineroitfeld , @ronnie_hart , and @benperreira enough for believing in me.
