UPDATE, 6 p.m. Friday: Richard McDonald has been found and is safe at home.

Portland police are asking your help to find a missing 60-year-old man who suffers from Alzheimer's disease.

Richard McDonald hopped a fence at his secure care facility on Southeast 122nd Avenue early Friday morning - and vanished. Detectives say Mcdonald enjoys walking the Springwater Trail, going to shopping malls and 7-11 stores, but is easily confused.

He's white 5-feet-six inches tall, weighing 140 pounds. His salt-and pepper colored hair is balding on top. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans, carrying a blanket and a bag of clothing. Anyone who knows of McDonald's whereabouts is asked to call 911. Anyone with additional information about the case is asked to contact Detective Mike Weinstein at (503) 823-0446.
