ORIGINAL STORY:

The Washington County Sheriff's Office is searching Hagg Lake to determine whether a family of four may have drowned.

Monday afternoon, the body of a three-year-old was found in the water near the Sain Creek picnic area.

Personal items were found on the shore including a towel, cooler and identification.  Deputy's found the family's car parked nearby.

When they checked with relatives they learned the family was going to the lake Monday and the didn't return.

Side scan sonar is being used to give better images of the lake bottom.  The water is very murky and divers only have one or two feet of visibility.

Hagg Lake is closed until the investigation is complete to help keep the water calm which will prevent sediment from being stirred up.

The family is from Hillsboro, but no other information is being released.  Relatives have been notified.
