Eugene starting pitcher Erik Schoenrock threw seven dominant innings to lead the Emeralds (6-12) to a 4-0 win over Hillsboro (4-14) on Monday night in Eugene. Schoenrock kept the Hops off balance all night, allowing just one hit, one hit batter and no walks while striking out seven.

Hillsboro starter Ben Eckels (1-2) issued two leadoff walks in six and two-thirds innings, and both came home to score.

The Hops' best chance to score came in the top of the eighth inning, trailing 2-0. With Schoenrock gone, Hillsboro had singles from catcher Grant Nelson and shortstop Ryan Gebhardt off reliever Max Beatty, but side-arming right-hander Adam Cimber came in to strike out pinch hitter Elvin Soto and center fielder Taylor Ratliff to strand the tying runs in scoring position.
